Working hours for AICE interpreters are as follows:

 

Short conference – 1 interpreter
A short conference lasts for a maximum of 90 minutes of interpreting time* in the booth.  

 

For any other event format in excess of 90 minutes, you will need two interpreters.

 

Half day and full day – 2 interpreters

A half day is considered a maximum of 4 hours of interpreting time*, and a full day a maximum of 7 hours.  Any time in excess of 7 hours will be considered overtime.

*Interpreting time.- This is calculated as the number of hours from the starting time that appears on the programme until the meeting ends, subtracting any coffee and lunch breaks.

Professional interpreters always arrive 30 minutes before the meeting. However it is always best to agree on this with your team beforehand.
